The benefits of decluttering the space around you...
Does this sound like an extra chore on your to do list? Bear with us as it might just be a task with more hidden benefits that we might realise. ‘Decluttering’ has became a bit of a buzz word lately, but the concept is well established.
The original purpose of a good deep clean might have been more practical, making space for more seasonal items at the forefront, donating items we no longer need in the household… However, the concept of decluttering has a lot of benefits for the mind and mental well-being too. We’ve decided to list some of them down, just in case you needed some extra convincing!
Reduced Stress:
A cluttered environment can contribute to feelings of overwhelm and stress. Decluttering helps create a more organised and visually appealing space, which can promote a sense of calm and relaxation.
Enhanced Mood:
A freshly organised home can create a sense of order, harmony, and satisfaction, leading to an overall improvement in your emotional well-being.
Increased Productivity:
When your surroundings are clutter-free, it becomes easier to focus and concentrate on tasks. Removing distractions and unnecessary items from your personal space can enhance your productivity and efficiency. Just think of the time saved, if you can straight away tell where things are kept, instead of browsing through the four junk drawers we all have somewhere.
Better Sleep:
A cluttered bedroom can disrupt your sleep by creating a sense of chaos and anxiety. By decluttering your sleeping area, you can create a peaceful and relaxing environment that promotes better sleep quality and helps you relax.
Reduced Anxiety:
Clutter can be overwhelming and trigger feelings of anxiety and stress. Decluttering helps remove visual and mental clutter, providing a sense of order and reducing anxiety levels.
Sense of Renewal:
Decluttering can also be a little more abstract than a home deep clean. A fresh start. Clearing up your space can bring a sense of renewal, optimism, and an opportunity to let go of the past.
Remember, decluttering is a personal process, and the benefits may vary from person to person. It's important to approach decluttering at your own pace and in a way that works best for you. It can also be an aid to a better well-being, of course, it’s not a cure-all.
We have started the list claiming it might serve as an incentive to tackle the task. Well there are some more tangible benefits too.
If you come across empty Skye Candles jars and bottles throughout the process, make sure to bring them into one of our shops!
