As anyone who has organised a big celebration will know, it's easy to get caught up in the logistics. In the run-up to our 20th Anniversary ceilidh and celebration, we were busy coordinating guests, music, food and all the countless details that come with hosting a special event. But as the big night drew closer, we realised something was missing, a real centrepiece that would help mark the occasion and create a memorable focal point for the evening.

With time running short, we reached out to Emma at Skye Bloom Floristry. Despite our very last-minute request, Emma couldn't have been more accommodating. Not only did she take the booking in her stride, but she delivered something that went far beyond our expectations.
From the outset, Emma embraced the project with enthusiasm, taking the time to understand our vision and finding ways to elevate it. As she developed the concept, she suggested incorporating plinths painted in colours that matched our branding. The idea immediately resonated with us. If we were going to colour-match anything, there was only one place to turn: Skye Paint. Their expertise and attention to detail meant the colours were matched perfectly to our Scottish Collection, helping to tie the entire installation together and create a cohesive visual centrepiece for the celebration.
What made the project feel particularly special was the way it brought together several island businesses and members of our own team. It felt entirely fitting that a piece created to mark 20 years should itself be the product of local collaboration, craftsmanship and creativity.
The floral arrangement was built around large wooden numbers, representing our anniversary milestone. These were brought to life by our in-house joiner James, better known to many as Moch, whose skill and craftsmanship provided the perfect foundation for the display. At the same time, the plinths were expertly painted by Billie, whose careful work ensured the colours were spot on and complemented the flowers beautifully.

Emma then worked her magic, transforming the structure into a stunning floral installation. Known for creating captivating floral designs that elevate venues and events, she combined texture, colour and movement to produce a piece that became a real focal point of the evening. Guests couldn't resist stopping to admire it, photograph it and ask about how it had been created.
Looking back, the installation perfectly captured what we hoped to celebrate: not only 20 years of history, but also the incredible people and businesses that make Skye such a special place. We're hugely grateful to Emma at Skye Bloom Floristry, the team at Skye Paint, Moch and Billie for helping bring the vision to life.
The result was a beautiful reminder that some of the best creations happen when a community comes together.
