Skye Candles' 10th birthday celebration!
It’s hard to believe that 10 years has already passed since James made the very first Skye Candle! We’ve never been ones to waste an opportunity to celebrate and 10th birthday is a BIG ONE. Definitely worth a celebration. Not just for the anniversary itself, but for all the milestones we’ve reached in the last decade, the people that make them happen and place that in one way or another inspired all of them. So we got out our team together, invited friends and family and celebrated in our newly opened headquarters in Broadford.
Skye's latest addition – Deli Gasta provided delicious canapés and refreshments while the Isle of Harris Distillers kindly sponsored the drinks. Talented young musicians from Sabhal Mor Ostaig entertained our guests throughout the evening. We covered the entire face of the venue with locally foraged floral installations and old photos of the company, the products and of the team, nostalgically documenting the Skye Candles’ journey so far. A beautiful night that we will remember for the years to come!
We’ve come a long way since the beginnings in 2006. From supplying a small local soap shop in Portree to stocking over 150 outlets, some as far as Sydney, Australia. The candles may no longer look anything like James’ first creations, but the core company ethos remained unchanged; making excellent quality, natural home fragrance products. The next decade will be just as exciting of an adventure for the brand. We will be visiting and exhibiting at international trade shows and events and we might already be working on new product ranges. That's just a little snippet of it all too! With an ever-expanding team of young talent, we certainly have a bright future ahead of us, so definitely watch this space.
