Uig Pottery Collaboration
A candle designed with sustainability in mind
We are extremely excited to reveal the new product that we have created with local artist, Margaret, from Uig Pottery.
Uig Pottery was established in 1992. Just like us, they pride themselves in creating their products by hand and describe themselves to create “unique yet functional ceramic pieces inspired by the natural beauty of its scenic location overlooking Uig Bay”.
As you may know, sustainability it at the heart of our business. Our wax is a by-product and our containers are gladly accepted back in store and in return, customers are provided with a discount on future purchases. So, when it came to collaborating with a local artist to create a new product, we wanted to work with someone who could create something beautiful and could be used again and again. Once your candle is done burning, you are left with a gorgeous piece of pottery with which the possibilities are endless as to what you can do with it.
However, before you get to that stage, don’t forget to sit back and enjoy the all new “Wildflowers of Skye” fragrance. This is a fresh and vibrant new scent with top notes of bergamot, tangerine and dewy green notes with a floral heart. Once the pots are created up in Uig, they then make their way down to our workshop in Broadford where the fragrance is hand-poured and finishing touches added.
This exciting new product also features an all know wooden lid design. The cherry on top of a product that we are very proud of.
This is our very first exclusive product and will only be available for purchase in our store on the Isle of Skye. The truly unique and small batch nature of this collaboration is why we decided to keep them exclusive to our Broadford shop. We hope it could be just one more extra reason to visit our beautiful island where this all began. And who knows, it may not be long until your local shop releases its very own exclusive item.
We hope to see you in our Broadford store soon. Retail price £45.
