Before lighting or relighting your candle, make sure to trim the wick between 1/4 to 1/2 an inch.
Light your candle using extra long matches or a candle lighter. If you're using matches, make sure to remove any debris as it can cause the candle to soot.
Make sure to burn your candle on an even surface, away from any draughts. Allow enough time for the wax to melt right to the edge (usually 3-4 hours).
Your diffuser should start throwing its fragrance about an hour after you place the reeds in the oil but to help get the most from them here are a few tips to follow:
1. Our diffusers work best in a warm room, as the heat encourages evaporation of the oil and therefore increases the fragrance throw.
2. A good air flow in the room helps to dry the reeds and fill the air with scent more quickly than a room where there is little or no air flow.
3. If you have guests over and want a quick release of fragrance you can always flip the reeds over. This will give an instant burst of fragrance with the oil not relying on being driven up through the reeds by diffusion alone.
4. When handling used reeds or oil be sure to keep them out of contact with any surfaces, as if left for a while it can stain.
