And that's exactly what we're going to focus on in this post, show you the journey our products make from our Broadford workshop, to the shelves in our stores and even further, to the shelves, tables, desks, mantle pieces and everything in between in our customer's homes.
Back in 2015, the year when we expanded the most in terms of our own Skye Candles stores, we learned that the most efficient way for us to get the stock distributed is by doing our own van deliveries. Not only is this a good opportunity for the staff to meet as well, this system also enables us to collect all the empties returned
to us, to bring them back and reuse.
These days, the deliveries are done by Lee, often accompanied by Nuala, the border collie. Lee and Nuala make sure to stop by in every shop, always with a smile, to drop off the new candles and reed diffusers in Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews and Inverness.
Inverness tends to be the trip with the most boxes or sometimes a standalone journey with extra top ups for our online packing team. All the orders placed on our beautiful website are shipped from the floor above the shop, hand packed by the most dedicated team of individuals you can imagine.
Carrying the same principles of the company we talked about last week
, a human touch is added not just to the making of the products but to their delivery safe and sound too. The team is managed by Samantha, who deserves a massive shout out, all year round, but particularly now, as we are approaching our busiest period of the year.
We ensure our orders are packed without plastic, and beautifully presented so that whoever is opening the parcel is not left disappointed, even offering beautiful handwritten notes upon request. We take pride in our customer service, of which Samantha is a big part as well, handling our online queries.
