As much as Skye is synonymous with picturesque hills and mountains to climb, St Andrews is synonymous with golf. Both the hills, as well as Scottish golf courses, are lined with beautiful yellow gorse flowers for the better part of spring and summer months, and so, in the celebration of 150th Open played at the legendary Old Course this year, we are introducing our special edition – Fairway Gorse candle.
The iconic Old Course
, the host of the 150th
Open Championship this July (10th
) is just a few minute walk away from our shop. We open the doors to Isle of Skye Candle Co. St Andrews in 2015 and since then we have become one of the staples for Market Street and truly feel like a part of the local community. Needless to say, this summer is living and breathing the Open; golf’s oldest and most prestigious event, so we have decided to commemorate the occasion the Skye Candles way.

Fairway Gorse is now available in our St Andrews shop, Edinburgh shop and online[link], as it truly is the perfect souvenir of the event celebrating it with the fresh fragrance of sweet gorse in bloom. The scent combines warm, sweet balsamic, floral and green herbaceous notes that rest on a base containing Scots pine, cedar wood and amber. It is packaged in a whisky tumbler, with the Open’s colours on the label, Fairway Gorse perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere of the home of golf, provides you with approximately 30 hours burn time and a great scent throw too.
